Overlake Hires New Foundation Executive Director

Molly Stearns to serve as vice president of fund development and executive director of the Overlake Hospital Foundation.

Bellevue, Wash. (Sept. 23, 2010)– Overlake Hospital Medical Center has named Molly Stearns vice president of fund development and executive director of the Overlake Hospital Foundation. Stearns comes to Overlake from the Seattle Foundation with more than two decades of experience in fundraising.

“I am really looking forward to this new challenge and to working with the amazing team Overlake already has in place,” said Stearns. “The opportunity to lead this group and cultivate an even higher level of philanthropic outreach and support is something that is truly exciting for me.”

For the past nine years, Stearns has been the senior vice president of the Seattle Foundation where she was instrumental in developing the organization into one of the nation’s largest community foundations.

“I am delighted to announce that Molly Stearns has accepted our offer to join Overlake and become the executive director of the Overlake Hospital Foundation,” said Overlake Hospital President and CEO, Craig Hendrickson. “After an extensive search and selection process we have found an individual with the right blend of experience and leadership qualities to take our foundation to the next level.”

Stearns, who holds a B.A. in Political Science from Tufts University and a M.A. from the University of Chicago’s School of Social Science Administration, will replace David Aubrey, who is retiring after being with Overlake since 2007. Stearns and Aubrey will work together to ensure a smooth transition for the foundation. Stearns will officially start her new role with the foundation on Sept. 27.
