Frequently Asked Questions
Tell me about Overlake Medical Center.
Overlake Medical Center is a 349-bed, nonprofit regional medical center offering a full range of advanced medical services to the Puget Sound Region.
We are a nonprofit hospital that embraces a culture of community, caring and change for the better. You feel it when you walk down the halls and when you talk to staff. From administration to housekeeping, we are all here for the same reason—our commitment to excellence, not only with our patients, but also with each other.
We have learned through experience that you don’t find the right fit by hiring bodies. We also know that you have many choices. It doesn’t matter whether you are new or experienced; the best decision is an informed one based on facts and experience.
We spend a great deal of time upfront getting to know you and what your priorities are. Are you seeking employment for a career opportunity, education, location, sense of community and/or lifestyle? What is the make-up of your personality? Which specialty area does your personality, critical thinking and skill set best match?
What type of employees are you looking for?
We are looking for two things: great candidates and the right fit. We believe that being a great candidate is more than your skill and experience, it is also attitude, values, work ethic, critical thinking, teamwork, respect, passion, excitement and a willingness, with our support, to become the best representative of Overlake that you can be.
What do you mean by the “right fit?”
We believe a big part of the "right fit" is making sure that we are the "right fit" for you. It takes the right location, the right hospital, the right department, the right director/manager and the right staff.
How much will I get paid?
We believe that the most important employees are the ones already working for us and to not create disparity, our employees are paid based on their years of experience.
How can I find out the status of my application?
We encourage you to utilize our online system to monitor and manage the applications you have submitted.
Can I speak with someone?
If you have a question that cannot be answered by information on this site, we encourage you to contact the Human Resources Department at 425-688-5201. If an employment representative cannot answer your question, your call will be routed to a recruiter or other staff member who can best assist you.
If I don't have a computer, is there another way to apply for a job at Overlake?
Overlake embraces new technology and we are pleased to offer an online application and transfer process for all individuals seeking a position with us.
For applicants without computers, we offer computers in our Human Resources Department. Assistance is available upon request to anyone who may not be comfortable with or able to use a computer.
If I am having computer issues, what are some possible solutions?
The application program was made to be compatible with Internet Explorer. If you are experiencing problems during the application process and are not using Internet Explorer, try switching to Internet Explorer to see if it resolves the issue.
Where is the Human Resources office located?
1231 116th Avenue NE (Overlake Medical Pavilion)
Bellevue, WA 98004
How long will it take before I get hired?
There is not a precise answer to this question. The recruitment staff at Overlake processes a large volume of applications and employee transfer applications each day.
Processing time for individual applications can vary due to the volume of qualified applicants for each position, screening and interview schedules, access to employment verification information, and timing of orientation schedules, just as an example. Not everyone who applies will receive a job offer.
We strive to hire only the best and most highly qualified candidates for each of our openings. You are important to us. If you believe you are the best candidate for a particular position, we welcome you to apply.
Can I apply for as many jobs as I want?
You are welcome to apply for multiple positions; however, be certain you meet all the skill and education requirements for the job, and that you do have a sincere interest in each position.
Can I search for available jobs before I create an account or a profile?
Yes, you can search jobs without an account or profile. You can then create an account and profile for yourself once you identify a position that you’re interested in.
What if I can't find the job I'm looking for, but I know I have skills and experience you may be seeking?
You should go ahead and create an account and fill out your profile information even if you do not see a position for which you wish to apply at this time.
Also, be sure to include information about your special skills and experience in the applicable areas of your profile. We frequently conduct profile searches for applicants with specialized skills and experience. If your active information is retrieved by one of our searches, we will contact you to let you know that we have a position available that might be of interest to you.
