What to Expect

Overlake is committed to excellence in everything we do, say and are. Our goal in filling our openings is not just to hire the “right fit,” but to also invest long term in that “right fit.” Because we believe the best decisions are informed decisions, we want you to know what to expect after you have completed your application:

  1. Review of your application.
  2. Review of your FIT Survey.
  3. For all nursing positions, the recruiter covering that area will call and/or set up a face-to-face pre-screening to discuss “right fit” for all parties involved.
  4. Background check.
  5. Primary source verification of license and/or certification.
  6. Verification of education.
  7. For all nursing positions, the recruiter covering that area will call and/or set up a face-to-face pre-screening to discuss “right fit” for all parties involved.
  8. Based on the above decision, we will move forward with the following steps:
    • Interview with manager of department.
    • Tour of department.
  9. Decision by manager and Human Resources whether or not to move forward.
  10. If the decision is no, you will be contacted by the recruiter.
  11. If the decision is yes, an offer will be made pending outcome of the following:
    • Drug screen (within 48 hours of offer and/or receipt of Fed-Exed documents if is not convenient for you to come to the hospital).
    • Background check.
    • References and/or copies of your performance evaluations.
    • Acceptance of offer letter documenting starting date, wage, FTE status and hours.
    • Completion of online On-Boarding Forms e-mailed by your recruiter in preparation for your required New Hire Sign-Up Session.
    • Receipt of welcome e-mail informing all departments involved in your new hire process that you are coming on board.
    • Attendance of New Hire Sign-Up SessionHospital Orientation and when applicable, Nursing Orientation.
