Materials Management - Distribution, Linen and Mailroom
The goal of the Materials Management Department is to supply the hospital, its staff and volunteers, with the medical products, linen, and small medical equipment necessary to provide our patients with Medical excellence every day.TM We provide these services directly through our Distribution, Shipping and Receiving, Linen and Mailroom services. These products and services are a part of the backbone of our hospital and are an incredibly important part of the daily activities at Overlake. Distribution and Linen provides all stocked medical supplies and linen needed throughout the hospital while our Shipping, Receiving and Mailroom services manage all of the incoming and outgoing mail and freight from various carriers.
The Materials Management Department has an energetic and diverse team of people who bring a multitude of skills and abilities to the workplace. The team provides a welcoming and friendly environment, bringing good laughs and great attitudes to the workplace every day.
Materials Assistant -> Materials Technician -> Materials Specialist -> Senior Lead Technician.
Materials Management is a great area in which to enter into the healthcare field, allowing for a variety of opportunities to experience the hospital environment from many different perspectives.
Materials Management provides a very supportive environment to students and people pursuing their continued education. The department also provides tuition reimbursement to one employee each year for the CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification.
Materials Management is a department that works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We have many different shifts spread throughout the workday, both during the week and on weekends, to accommodate the various needs of the hospital.
Number of Employees & FTEs
At any given time we have approximately 14 materials technicians, 3 materials specialists and one senior lead technician in Distribution, one material assistant in the Mailroom and approximately 5 materials assistants in the Linen area.
