Overview

Overlake’s Medical Imaging Department is proud of its highly skilled employees and excited about all of the wonderful things going on in our department, including the latest and greatest technologies. Our focus is excellent patient care and customer service and we have a lot to boast about such as:

  • Highly skilled and trained registered technologists to handle high acuity situations.
  • A unique and highly skilled team of ACLS Registered Nurses specifically trained in critical care.
  • A filmless environment, complete with GE’s picture archiving communication system (PACS).
  • Centralized scheduling for patient convenience.
  • GE 64-slice and GE16-slice CT scanners.
  • A new Toshiba Large Bore 1.5T Titan and dual MRI suite (late 2009).
  • ICAVL accreditation.
  • AIUM accreditation.
  • ACR accreditation.
  • DR and CR technologies for stationary and mobile devices.
  • Philips Dual Head Gamma camera.

Staff Details

We offer Medical Imaging Services 24 hours a day with a dedicated team of technologists, nurses, assistants, transporters, electronic imaging representatives and administrators who are committed to our patients and to each other.

The Medical Imaging Department is comprised of:

  • An Administration and Customer Service Team
  • Computed Tomography
  • Diagnostic Ultrasound
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Radiography
  • Interventional Radiology
  • MRI (late 2009)

We are proud to be a collaborative partner and clinical site for Bellevue College and Radiography, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, MRI and CT programs, and Seattle University’s Ultrasound program.

Career Paths

Professional Disciplines

All technologists hold a minimum of a two-year certificate or Associate Degree, some hold four-year Bachelor Degrees. Registered Nurses hold a minimum of an Associate Degree, some with four-year Bachelor Degrees. All technologists are registered through the ARRT, ARDMS, CNMT or NMTCB, and licensed by the State of Washington. Nurses are registered and licensed by the State of Washington.

Work Hours/Shifts

The Medical Imaging Department is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are proud to offer flexible shifts in all of our modalities. Team members work various four, five, six, seven, eight, 10 and 12-hour shifts. We employ a mix of part-time and full-time staff.

The Medical Imaging Department consists of 96 employees making up approximately 69 FTEs in various roles within each modality.
