Living in the Area

The Northwest: A Quality Work and Life Environment

Overlake is located in Bellevue, the fifth largest city in Washington. It's a young city that has grown in the past three decades from a small Seattle suburb to a fast-paced, professional commerce center. Many companies are headquartered here such as T-Mobile, Expedia, Eddie Bauer and PACCAR. Sleek new buildings are constantly changing the skyline and the city boasts nearly all of the attractions of a larger city.

Bellevue is home to approximately 120,000 residents, many of whom have close ties to Overlake. This is where their children are born, where their medical emergencies are handled, and where their friends and relatives are cared for. Overlake is an anchor for the community, providing residents with the security of excellent medical care, if and when they need it.

Overlake employees live in all areas of the Puget Sound region. Please visit the sites below for more information about the communities served by Overlake:

Schools

Schools in the Seattle area are highly rated, award-winning and some of the top in the nation. In fact, five of Bellevue’s high schools were in the top 100 of Newsweek’s 2009 top U.S. high schools report.

Nearby school districts include Bellevue, Issaquah, Lake Washington, Renton and Seattle.

Outdoor Activities

Overlake employees have the opportunity to live and work in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. With an abundance of natural resources—trees, mountains, lakes, rivers, ocean—it's no wonder the Puget Sound is one of America 's most livable areas.

There is so much to see and do within just a few hours' drive:

Also, nearby hiking trails abound, and cycling is one of the most popular outdoor sports.

Arts & Entertainment

Seattle is home to a world class art museum and professional performing arts companies such as the Seattle Opera, the Pacific Northwest Ballet and the Seattle Symphony.

In Bellevue, the Bellevue Arts Museum emphasizes the work of regional artists and plays host to the largest art event each July. Visit the Bellevue Downtown Association for more information on arts and entertainment in the City of Bellevue.

Sports in the Seattle Area

Seattle is passionate about its sports, so whether you follow the professional teams–Mariners (baseball), Seahawks (football), Seattle Storm (women’s basketball) or Sounders (soccer)–or college teams–The University of Washington and Washington State University (beware the rivalry!), Seattle has a team for you.
