When Do My Benefits Start?
Insurance (Medical, Dental, Life and Long-Term Disability)
If you are benefits eligible and enroll as a new employee during the initial enrollment period, your coverage begins on the first of the month following 30 days of continuous employment. For example, if you first day of employment is March 15, your benefits start on May 1.
If you are not benefits eligible when you become an Overlake employee but later change to benefits eligible status, you then will be eligible for benefits on the first day of the month following your status change, provided you have completed 30 days of continuous employment.
If you are benefits eligible as a new employee but do not elect to enroll in the benefits during the initial enrollment period, you will not be able to enroll until the annual Open Enrollment period in the late fall of each year. Provided you remain benefits eligible, your coverage will begin the following January 1 and continue through December 31.
You will be automatically enrolled in the 403(b) plan after 60 days of employment.
All Other Benefits
All other benefits are effective on your start date.
