Employee Recognition

Overlake places significant value on the service, commitment to excellence and loyalty of its staff with the following programs:

Bravo!

This is an employee recognition program designed to recognize extra efforts made by our employees. This program allows all employees to recognize their co-workers for going above and beyond, and provides for a variety of gifts such as movie tickets, latte cards and gift certificates.

Long-Term Service

Overlake recognizes the value of continued employment by rewarding employees for their length of service at the hospital. The hospital awards service pins commemorating each five years of continuous service. Our annual Employee Recognition Celebration honors those employees who have achieved 10 years or more of service at five-year intervals (10, 15, 20, 25, etc.)

Employee of the Month/Employee of the Year

True excellence deserves to be recognized. An employee committee selects the Employee of the Month from staff nominations. One of these employees is selected for the Employee of the Year award at the next year's annual Employee Recognition Celebration. Both awards come with a variety of well-deserved gifts.

Dr. Leland Ellis Volunteer Service Award

This award serves as a living tribute to the tremendous contributions made by Dr. Leland Ellis, a physician on active staff at Overlake from 1969 until his death in May 1989. Dr. Ellis believed fully in the principle of giving back to one's community. Each year, an Overlake employee is honored for his or her active community service at the annual Employee Recognition Celebration.

Employee Activities Committee

This committee's mission is to bring low-cost or no-cost activities to all hospital employees. For example, this committee works to provide discount movie, Wild Wave and Mariners tickets and free Seattle Art Museum passes. The committee also facilitates Overlake Hospital sport teams including softball, soccer and volleyball. These activities give Overlake Hospital employees a chance to get to know their co-workers better.
