Should you involve the person with dementia in planning for the future? How can you talk about difficult topics with a family member who has dementia? What are advance directives (such as durable power of attorney and living will) and why is it important to complete them early on in the disease? This class will answer these questions and will provide an overview of how care needs to change over time. We will also discuss the importance of self-care and meeting the needs of the family caregiver. This class is not appropriate for the person with memoy loss. Presented by the Alzheimer's Association.
