This two-weeknight session, or 1 day Saturday course, is recommended for everybody, including daycare workers and others needing certification for their workplace. Participants need to be 16 years old.
To register for CPR, or First Aid separately, choose the class you want in the drop-down "fee" box on the registration form.
First Aid covers, with an emphasis on childhood related injuries:
- Positioning Victim
- Hands-on-practice with glove removal
- Signs/symptoms of shock
- Cut and bruises, includes hands-on bandaging practice
- Bites and stings
- Eye and nose injuries
- Hands-on splinting practice
- Head injuries
Heartsaver CPR including AED covers:
- Basic techniques in Infant (age 0 - 1 year), Child (1 - 8 years), and adult CPR
- Heartsaver, Choking - Adults/Children/Infants
- AED certification with hands-on-practice
American Academy of Pediatrics and national CPR guidelines are employed. Participants receive a 2-year course completion card for Basic First Aid, Adult/Infant/Child CPR, and AED upon successful completion of the class. Certification is through American Heart Association and American Safety Council.
Weeknights: First Aid is the first night, CPR is the second night.
Saturdays: First Aid is 9am-12pm, CPR is 12:45pm-4pm (doors lock at 1pm).
Please plan to arrive a few minutes before the scheduled class. To be awarded your completion card, you must be present for the entire class. Students arriving late will need to reschedule the class. There is a $10 reschedule fee. Childcare is not provided.
