Clinic
To help patients get back to a normal life after breast cancer treatment, Overlake developed a Breast Cancer Survivorship Clinic. The clinic takes a whole-person approach and provides much-needed reassurance and support for the most effective long-term care of breast cancer survivors.
Backed by the clinical expertise of Overlake's multidisciplinary breast cancer team, the program draws upon recommendations from the Institute of Medicine, which has spearheaded efforts nationwide to address cancer survivors' health issues.
Staffed by Mary "Muff" Heffernan, MN, ARNP, AOCNP, the clinic will provide patients with a comprehensive treatment plan summary as well as recommendations for follow-up care. This service is covered by most insurance plans.
