Electrophysiology detects and evaluates electrical problems in the heart (the cause of arrhythmias). An electrophysiology study is a test where electrode catheters are introduced into veins and guided by X-ray into the heart. Abnormal heart rhythms are studied under controlled situations to diagnose the specific problems with your heart's electrical system.
