Adult Psychiatry Services
At Overlake, our patients’ needs determine the programs we offer. Whether a patient needs a day program, inpatient hospitalization or other treatment, all of our professional multidisciplinary care is given with compassion and deep concern. These are the foundation of everything we do.
Giving patients the least restrictive level of care is always our goal, too. The focus of each treatment plan is the person and we use a holistic approach to include family, school/occupation, outpatient providers and the community.
Our medical staff is comprised of licensed and board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrists who are available around the clock every day of the week. Among our medical staff are doctors who specialize in geriatrics, adult and child/adolescent psychiatry.
Additional staff includes:
- Psychiatric registered nurses
- Masters-level social workers
- Certified therapeutic recreation specialists
- Certified special education teacher
- Mental health specialists
- Registered dietitians
Many of our patients have commonly identified problems that need treatment including depression, suicidal thoughts or behavior, psychotic thinking, serious risk-taking, anxiety, and other diagnostic problems that are found in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual IV Revised. This is the standard guide for assessing and diagnosing mental disorders.
