Walk for Life
Overlake and the City of Bellevue Department of Parks and Recreation invite you to Walk for Life every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. at Bellevue Square. There is no charge for the Walk for Life program.
Walk for Life is a safe, effective, low-impact and convenient way to exercise and meet new friends. Each day, a specially trained Walk for Life coordinator will be available to help you get the most benefit from your walking program. Walk for Life gives you a chance to exercise safely in a climate-controlled setting. This is not a medically supervised program.
It is easy to join Walk for Life. At the west end of Bellevue Square, enter through Sky Bridge 4 from the second level parking garage and sign up at the Walk for Life registration table located on the mall's second floor at the south end.
According to the American Heart Association, a regular exercise program such as walking may:
- Strengthen your heart muscle
- Improve your self image
- Promote relaxation and sleep
- Burn calories
- Improve muscle tone
- Keep joints flexible
- Prevent osteoporosis
