The mission of the Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) Department is to enact the vision of a self-perpetuating culture of continuous improvement at Overlake.  The CPI Consultant contributes by demonstrating value through leading efforts to achieve results and developing others’ CPI skills and knowledge.  This includes leading efforts of low to medium level complexity improvement efforts and assisting the Director and Senior CPI Consultant in higher complexity improvement efforts. Using the mindset, methods and tools, and helping people to learn CPI through hands-on experience.

Under the direction of the Director of CPI, the consultant will be assigned to assist with key improvement efforts in the organization, contribute to methodological standards, training and engagement processes of the CPI department and partner with operational leaders at all levels of the organization for coaching and training opportunities.

Qualifications

Continuous Process Improvement Consultant

  • Bachelors Degree required. Masters preferred.
  • Minimum of three years as an internal and/or external consultant specializing in CPI (Lean) including organizational transformation experience, group leadership and facilitation, interpersonal communication, and team building.  Prior experience in Healthcare required
  • Grounded in CPI foundational tenents, principles, methods use and correct application of tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff across the system.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to teach complex technical/analytical concepts to staff and providers
  • Ability to continuously learn and apply improved CPI methodologies
  • Ability to lead/provoke the thinking of senior level administrators and medical staff leadership
  • Skilled in measurement, data gathering, and analysis.
  • Possesses business acumen and project management skills.
  • CPI tools and methods: A3, value stream mapping, breakthrough improvement methods, daily management, scientific problem solving.
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control (SPC)

Senior Continuous Process Improvement Consultant

  • Bachelors Degree required. Masters preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years as an internal and/or external consultant specializing in CPI (Lean) including organizational transformation experience, group leadership and facilitation, interpersonal communication, and team building.  Prior experience in Healthcare required.
