Peter Hashisaki, MD, Named 'Dr. Overlake' 2015

Bellevue, Wash. (Dec. 16, 2015) –  Overlake Medical Center has honored Infectious Disease Specialist Peter Hashisaki, MD, as “Dr. Overlake” – an honorary title bestowed to one physician annually by the hospital’s medical staff.

The honor recognizes physicians who have gone above and beyond the standard to pursue excellence and to contribute to the betterment of the Eastside community.

“With all that Dr. Hashisaki has done for the medical staff, the hospital, the community and his patients, this is a well-deserved award,” said Marlene Tuttle, Director of Medical Staff Services.

Hashisaki has been practicing as an Infectious Disease Specialist for more than 30 years and was recently named one of Seattle Magazine’s ‘Top Doctors.’” Peers describe him as meticulous, comprehensive, full of integrity and committed to his patients. Dr. Hashisaki is an outstanding collaborator and mentor; open to change and always looking to improve the patient experience.

“Peter is an invaluable resource to the Infection Prevention, Employee Health and Antibiotic Review teams. He led us to prepare for potential SARS and epidemic influenza,” said Steve Marshall, MD, Medical Director of Overlake Medical Center’s Emergency Department. “He also stepped up to assist in our ebola preparation and agreed to be an initial provider for any potential patient arriving in our Emergency Department.”
