About Me
Uma is a 25-year veteran technology executive with successful track record of designing, building and operating large web-scale software systems for eBay, Amazon, Microsoft, Walmart and Daimler Chrysler that intersects big data, analytics, machine learning with cloud and distributed computing technologies. She is known for her deep distributed computing expertise and has significant experience leading very large engineering teams that handled data infrastructure supporting large eCommerce websites, building up cloud data platforms, and owning big data analytics of large scale business intelligence and analytics systems. Additionally, she has led charters to build complex webscale backend eCommerce systems such as ordering, payments, fulfillment, supply chain, transportation and logistics.
Uma has a master’s degree in computer science from Wayne State University, Michigan and a Bachelor's in Engineering from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore, India. She is an active angel investor in the Seattle/San Francisco areas. She holds the highest alumni honor from her alma mater Wayne State University as Distinguished Engineer in Computer Science - 2019, for her 25 year contributions in the field of Computer Science.
