Connect Virtually with Your Healthcare Provider

Overlake Clinics offers virtual care visits to allow patients to continue seeing their regular primary care and specialty providers while in the comfort of their home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“A lot of our chronic care management for conditions like high blood pressure can be done with virtual visits. For those with Medicare, the annual wellness visits can be done virtually, which is great because older adults are in a higher risk group,” explains Michelle Kauffman, DO, with Overlake Clinics Primary Care in Issaquah.

Virtual care visits can be used for a variety of appointments with your primary care and specialist providers, including behavioral health visits for established patients, pre- and post-operative visits, appointments for chronic illnesses like diabetes, and visits for minor conditions such as sore throats or urinary tract infections. You can also see your primary care provider virtually if you need refills on most medications.

Visits are conducted through a secure video and audio chat. Those with access to a smartphone, tablet or a computer with a camera and a microphone can do a virtual care visit.

“It's very easy to connect—once your appointment has been set up, you will get a MyChart message with a link. Click on the link, and you’ll see your provider there with you virtually,” says Dr. Kauffman. “It’s nice to have the video because we can see you and are able to interpret more than we could over the phone.”

A virtual care visit with your primary care provider or a specialist will cost the same as a face-to-face visit.

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911. Overlake’s emergency department is open 24/7, remains fully operational and is prepared to serve all of our community’s medical needs. If you have a medical issue that you believe requires an in-person visit, please call the clinic where you would normally receive care and staff members will help you.

“We want you to stay home for the most part, but there are still times you need to come in and see your doctor,” adds Dr. Kauffman. “Your health does not take a vacation because of COVID-19.”
