I chose to practice family medicine because it provides me the opportunity to interact with and take care of whole families. I truly enjoy taking care of pregnant women and helping them in their motherhood journey. I also love to take care of children and their parents.
I believe in creating a partnership with my patients and sharing in decision making. I like to provide my patients with the options available to treat their condition and, based on evidence, make a decision together as to what would be the best option for them.
I strive to provide patients with the best evidence-based care. It is important to me that my patients feel well cared for and that they are heard in each and every encounter; that is the recipe to succeed in achieving and maintaining great results in any treatment. I treat my patients as I would any of my family members.
I am originally from El Salvador, but I have been living in Washington for the last eight years. I am happily married to a very thoughtful husband, and we have three children, all under 5 years old. I am a runner; I have run several half-marathons and am training to run my first marathon. I like to read, sometimes up to three books at a time, which can make reading one whole book a little slower. I like to play outdoors with my kids, and I enjoy going out for brunch on the weekends. I chat almost daily with my childhood friends. Faith, family, friends and a healthy lifestyle are very important to me; they provide me balance.
