Bellevue, Wash. – Overlake Medical Center announced today it has received an A safety rating from the Leapfrog Group, highlighting its ongoing commitment to providing an exceptional patient experience while maintaining the highest safety standards in its hospital and clinics.

“The safety of our patients is our top concern,” said Overlake Chief Medical Officer David Knoepfler, MD. “We are constantly investing in quality and safety through practices like daily staff safety huddles and investments in data analytics. We are grateful that respected groups like Leapfrog are there to educate patients about their choices.”

Overlake was one of only nine hospitals in Washington state to receive an A.

The Leapfrog Group, an independent non-profit organization and advocate for patient safety nationwide, awards letter grades — A, B, C, D, or F — to 2,633 hospitals based on their performance on 30 national safety measures, including how well they protect patients from accidents, errors, injuries and infections. The Hospital Safety Score is calculated under the guidance of the nation’s leading experts on patient safety, using publicly available data to empower patients to make informed decisions surrounding the safety of their care.
