In The News: Overlake Awarded for Safety Excellence

425 Magazine's Madeleine Porter writes about the Patient Safety Excellence Award Overlake Medical Center & Clinics received from Healthgrades in 2020.

Porter writes, "The award is based on a review of 14 patient safety indicators within the Medicare inpatient population. Inpatient data from the Medicare fiscal years of 2016 to 2018 measured “the rate at which serious, potentially preventable complications and adverse events occur.” Other extensive requirements for eligibility included a high standard quality threshold, zero occurrences of foreign objects left during surgery or procedure, adequate sample size for statistical evaluation, and robust data collection."
