In the News: Seattle hospitals struggle to meet growing demand of students facing back-to-school anxiety

As students across Washington state prepare to return to the classroom, Darcy Newby, a counselor at the Overlake Specialty School, speaks with KING 5's Angeli Kakade about any anxiety or fears kids may be experiencing.

From the story: “Anxiety will usually peak right before a transition, but then often will drop down lower once kids get there,” said Darcy Newby. “So, being able to call the office and say, 'Hey, Billy had a tummy ache this morning. Has he shown up and complained about that yet? How's he doing?'" could help assess where your child is that day and manage how they feel the next.”
