Overlake certified diabetes educator, Lisa Levinson, RN, joined FOX 13's Good Day Seattle on World Diabetes Day to discuss risk factors, as well as diabetes management and prevention tips.

"Risk factors are genetics, family history, weight, sedentary lifestyle, chronic stress, other conditions that maybe require certain medications, generally speaking most everybody is at risk in some capacity," said Lisa Levinson, RN, CDE, Overlake Medical Center & Clinics. "The good news is that any recommendation for diabetes will really be helpful for the general population."

Especially with the holidays approaching, Levinson offered advice on how to navigate large, food-centered gatherings and mitigate the impacts of overindulgence.
