Overlake welcomed its first baby of 2024 within the first hour of the new year.

Baby Caleb entered the world at 12:52 a.m., weighing 5 pounds, 13 ounces. Caleb is the fourth child to parents Maan Jhoy (“MJ”) and Romualdo (“Rom”), who are from Sumner.

MJ said she chose the Overlake Childbirth Center after having a positive experience delivering her third baby, now 3 years old, here at Overlake. MJ works in Bellevue near Overlake Medical Center and did not want to have her baby anywhere else, despite the distance from their Pierce County home.

“It’s worth the drive,” said MJ. “They take care of you here.”

MJ added that this is not the first “holiday” baby for the couple. Their 9-year-old son was born on Christmas!

Congratulations to the proud parents on their new special delivery.
