MyChart Phishing Scam Alert

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics is warning patients and community members about a phishing scam targeting MyChart users nationwide.

Scammers are sending fraudulent emails and text messages that appear to come from MyChart, offering a "MyChart Medicare Kit," "Senior Health Package," or similar free wellness items. These messages are not from Overlake, Epic MyChart, or your healthcare provider.

If you receive one of these messages:

• Do not click any links or open attachments.
• Do not reply or provide personal, medical, insurance or financial information.
• Mark the message as phishing, spam, or junk and delete it.

If you are unsure whether a MyChart message is legitimate, contact your healthcare provider directly using a phone number from an official website or other trusted source. Be cautious of phone numbers included in suspicious messages, as scammers often use numbers that closely resemble legitimate ones.
