Chest pain, shortness of breath and unusual fatigue can be signs of heart disease. Advanced cardiac imaging at Overlake Heart & Vascular Center helps doctors look more closely at the heart to identify potential problems and guide care.

Muaz Abudiab, MD, joined KING 5’s New Day NW to discuss how advanced cardiac imaging helps doctors better understand heart health and determine the next steps in care.

Cardiac PET myocardial perfusion imaging (PET MPI) shows how well blood flows to the heart muscle, helping identify areas with reduced blood flow. Coronary CT angiography (CCTA) provides detailed images of the coronary arteries, allowing doctors to see plaque buildup and narrowing.

Overlake also offers HeartFlow analysis, which uses CCTA images to create a personalized 3D model of the heart and its arteries. This helps doctors assess whether a narrowing may affect blood flow and better understand plaque buildup.

At Overlake’s Heart & Vascular Center, access to advanced imaging technologies helps our doctors better understand each patient’s heart health, make informed treatment decisions and provide personalized care — all with the goal of achieving the best possible outcomes for every patient.
