Gynecologic Cancer
If you suspect or have been diagnosed with a gynecologic cancer, it is important to see a gynecologic oncologist—medical doctors with specialized training in treating gynecologic cancers who will oversee your care from diagnosis to completion of treatment. Women diagnosed with a gynecologic cancer receiving care led by a gynecologic oncologist have higher cure rates than those receiving care from nonspecialized providers.
At the Overlake Cancer Center, our gynecologic oncology team will provide you with the best of care. Our partnership with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, as well as our award-winning physicians and staff, ensures that every woman seeking care at the Overlake Cancer Center receives patient-centered, holistic, cutting-edge cancer treatment.
Overlake Medical Center was recognized by Healthgrades for Superior Performance in Gynecologic Surgery and was among the top 5% of hospitals evaluated for gynecologic surgery.

Gynecologic cancers include those affecting your cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, vulva or vagina. If discovered early, most gynecologic cancers are effectively treated, and often cured. Quick and accurate answers are provided for every patient who wants to know if she has cancer and a detailed plan of next steps.
A comprehensive treatment plan will be developed with all of your care provided at the Overlake Cancer Center. Patients will find compassionate patient-centered care at our state-of-the-art facility that was designed by cancer survivors, their families, doctors and staff.
In addition to a gynecologic oncologist, you will have a variety of expert providers making up your treatment team. Your treatment team will depend on your personalized needs and may include surgery, chemotherapy, and/or radiation. This may include a medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, oncology nurse navigator, research nurse, and genetic counselor.
In addition to medical treatment, the Overlake Cancer Center provides support services designed to help patients and families deal with the many challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis.
Support services at the Overlake Cancer Center include Oncology Social Work, Medical Nutrition, Massage Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Spiritual Care, and Palliative Care. Social Workers provide support from day one and, in partnership with your cancer care team, they make sure there are no gaps or delays in treatment.
In addition, we have licensed genetic counselors to help patients and family members identify and manage inherited cancer risks. The information they provide can help with early detection of cancer, guide treatment decisions, and even suggest ways to prevent cancer from occurring.
We want you to come see us as soon as gynecologic cancer is suspected so that we can be part of your positive outcome.
