Overlake and Fred Hutch Cancer Center: Your team for expert Cancer Care
We know that starting cancer care can feel overwhelming. At Overlake Cancer Center, we collaborate with Fred Hutch Cancer Center to bring you world-renowned expertise in a personal setting close to home. We also know that having two teams involved in your care is different, so this guide is here to help you understand how your care works, where to go for common needs, and who to contact when questions come up.
In this collaborative program, care teams at Fred Hutch and Overlake work together to coordinate your care, guided by a care plan that will be unique to you. Fred Hutch provides all outpatient hematology/medical oncology and infusion services, which are offered in a dedicated clinic located on the Overlake campus, while Overlake Cancer Center provides radiation oncology, surgical oncology, inpatient care and ancillary services. In addition, you may need other medical services that are not unique to cancer care.
Many services you’ll receive are in the Overlake Medical Center building, but you may go to different clinics or departments within the building depending on the care services you need.
This guide is a short overview of the Cancer Program. It does not replace the full patient materials you may receive from Fred Hutch or Overlake. Please keep those materials too, because they include more detailed information about your treatment and services. Remember, your care team is here to support you at any time you have questions.
Your care may happen in more than one place
Depending on your treatment plan, you may receive care at both Overlake Cancer Center and Fred Hutch at Overlake. Both locations are conveniently located on the Overlake Campus. Your doctors, nurses and other staff coordinate with each other so that your care is connected across organizations.

If you are not sure who to contact, start with the clinic where you were most recently seen. Staff can help direct your question to the right team. For billing questions, call the number listed on your statement.
Billing
Because your care may involve services from more than one organization, you may receive billing statements from more than one health care system for the same date of service.
Overlake and MultiCare are affiliated with each other, so you may receive bills that include either or both of those names. Fred Hutch and UW Medicine are also affiliated with each other, so depending on the service you receive through the cancer program, you may receive a bill from either of those organizations.
This does not mean there is a duplicate charge. The bill reflects the clinic, provider, hospital or service involved in your care.
MyChart and How Your Teams Coordinate Care
You can use MyChart for non-urgent needs like viewing appointments, reviewing test results, checking medications or sending non-urgent messages to your care team.
Because your care may involve more than one health care organization, you may need more than one MyChart account – one for each organization where you receive care.
In your Fred Hutch MyChart account, you may be able to link other MyChart accounts using the “Happy Together” feature. After accounts are linked, you will be able to view information from participating organizations in one place, such as appointments, test results, medications, allergies, messages, care team information, immunizations and more.
How to link accounts or sign up for a MyChart account
To sign up or log in to a Fred Hutch MyChart account, visit: FredHutch.org/MyChart
To sign up or log in to an Overlake Medical Center MyChart account, visit: Mychart.overlakehospital.org
To link accounts in MyChart:
- Sign in to MyChart
- Go to Sharing.
- Select Link My Accounts.
- Search for the other organization and choose Link Account.
