Overlake Receives ‘Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award’ and the ‘Target: Stroke Honor Roll’ from the American Heart and Stroke Associations

Bellevue, Wash. – Overlake Medical Center Neuroscience Institute announced today it has received the American Heart and American Stroke Associations' Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award and was also listed on the Target: Stroke Honor Roll.

The Stroke Gold Plus award recognizes Overlake’s commitment and success in implementing a high standard of care by ensuring stroke patients receive treatment that meets nationally accepted, evidence-based standards and recommendations.

According to the American Heart and American Stroke Association, stroke is the number four cause of death and a leading cause of adult disability in the United States. On average, someone suffers a stroke every 40 seconds; someone dies of a stroke every four minutes; and 795,000 people suffer a new or recurrent stroke each year.
