Overlake receives Community Pillar Award 2018 from Bellevue Chamber of Commerce

Bellevue, Wash. – Overlake Medical Center & Clinics has received the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural Chairman’s Community Pillar Award for 2018. The award recognizes Overlake’s long-standing excellence and significant positive impact on the Eastside community. 

The Community Pillar award was one of five awards announced at the Chamber’s 29th annual Eastside Business Awards dinner on Mar. 29, 2018 at the Hyatt in Bellevue. “To receive this Community Pillar award from the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce is truly an honor,” said Overlake Chief Operating Officer Tom DeBord. “Our providers, staff and volunteers work very hard every day to save lives and improve the health of the Eastside community, this is a testament to their dedication.”

Overlake is a major employer on the Eastside with 3,000 employees. Overlake’s hospital, located in the heart of downtown Bellevue along with its primary, urgent and specialty care clinics offer a range of services along the healthcare continuum. “With the amazing talent and diversity represented by our nominees, it is clear the Eastside is well positioned to continue to lead and foster the region’s technology growth and innovation with current and future generations,” said Bellevue Chamber Board Chair, Jim Hill, with The Bellevue Collection.

The Chamber recognized Overlake’s continued focus on innovation, including its strategic partnership with EvergreenHealth in forming the Eastside Health Alliance and Eastside Health Network. Overlake also partners with Kaiser Permanente and numerous private practice medical groups around the Eastside. “Through all these efforts, Overlake has created a world class health system that has won numerous accolades,” said Bellevue Chamber President, Betty Capestany. 

Other recipients of the Chamber’s Eastside Business Awards for 2018 include BitTitan (Eastside Business of the Year), Seattle Humane (Eastside Small Business of the Year), Lincoln South Food Hall (Entrepreneurial Spirit – Startup of the Year), and Polyverse (Innovative Produce of the Year).
