Overlake Receives Outpatient Joint Replacement Award & Five-Star Outpatient Total Hip Rating from Healthgrades

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics is pleased to announce it has been recognized as an Outpatient Joint Replacement Excellence Award™ recipient two years in a row by Healthgrades, a top national health care quality ratings and services resource. This honor distinguishes Overlake in the top 10% nationwide for outpatient joint replacement for a second year in a row. 

Overlake also achieved a five-star rating in outpatient total hip replacement from Healthgrades for a third year in a row. Overlake’s outpatient joint replacement program is a key offering in its Orthopedics Surgery program.

To identify the top-performing hospitals for the most common outpatient procedures and conditions, Healthgrades focused exclusively on what matters most: patient outcomes. As part of its 2026 analysis, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates at short-term acute care facilities that perform critical orthopedic procedures in an outpatient environment.

Healthgrades found that patients treated at hospitals with nationally recognized outpatient programs from 2022 through 2024 had a demonstrably better chance of a positive outcome than those treated at hospitals that were not recognized for outpatient excellence. In fact, if all hospitals, as a group, performed similarly to five-star hospitals, on average, 36,678 complications could have been avoided during the three-year study period.*
