Advanced care for patients with heart rhythm disorders

The electrophysiology (EP) specialists at Overlake provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for patients with complex heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation (AFib), atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), ventricular arrhythmias and bradycardia.

Our experienced electrophysiologists use advanced technology and minimally invasive procedures to diagnose arrhythmias, restore normal heart rhythm and help patients reduce their risk of complications.

When to refer

Consider referring patients who have:

  • Suspected or confirmed atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter.
  • Symptomatic supraventricular tachycardia.
  • Ventricular arrhythmias.
  • Bradycardia or conduction disorders.
  • Recurrent palpitations, unexplained syncope or other symptoms suggestive of an arrhythmia.
  • Arrhythmias that are difficult to manage with medication.
  • A need for catheter ablation or other electrophysiology procedures.
  • An implanted pacemaker or defibrillator requiring specialized evaluation or management.

Advanced arrhythmia treatment

Our electrophysiology team offers a broad range of diagnostic and treatment options, tailored to each patient's condition and goals. Services include:

Catheter ablation

Our electrophysiologists use advanced ablation techniques to treat arrhythmias by targeting the heart tissue responsible for abnormal electrical signals.

Pulsed field ablation (PFA)

PFA is an advanced, nonthermal ablation technology used to treat atrial fibrillation. It uses short electrical pulses to selectively target heart tissue associated with AFib.

Atrial fibrillation care

Patients with AFib receive comprehensive evaluation and treatment, including rhythm management, ablation and strategies to reduce stroke risk.

Cardiac device care

Our team evaluates and manages patients who require or have implanted pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) and other cardiac rhythm devices.

Complex arrhythmia care

Patients with challenging or recurrent arrhythmias can benefit from specialized electrophysiology consultation and advanced treatment options.
