We’re here to help you feel safe, heard and supported throughout your childbirth experience. We know that childbirth is deeply personal – and our team will honor your needs and preferences at every step of the way.

At the Overlake Childbirth Center, we have helped thousands of families grow. We greet every new life with love, respect and the greatest of care.

That care is seen in our warm and welcoming team of healthcare experts. The obstetrics providers who deliver at Overlake are some of the most experienced and respected in the region. Our team works closely with your provider to offer expert and personalized prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care for you and your baby.

When you choose Overlake, you’ll have an active role in creating your labor and delivery plan. We use the TeamBirth philosophy, which puts you, your safety, preferences and goals, at the center of every decision.

Our modern center is designed to support your entire birth experience and make sure you’re able to share this unforgettable day with your family and loved ones.

Creating Your Custom Birth Experience with TeamBirth

TeamBirth is rooted in a simple and powerful promise: your voice matters. We use this approach to put you, your safety, and your preferences at the center of every decision. TeamBirth means you are not just receiving care – you are part of a team that includes your nurses, your doula, your birth partner, and most importantly, you.

Through regular “huddles,” your team will come together to check in, talk through your wishes, and help you feel safe and heard. We encourage you to share how your body feels and do everything we can to create an environment where you feel empowered to ask questions.

Our patients tell us that TeamBirth creates a supportive space where you feel respected and cared for – every step of the way. Because birth isn’t just a medical event; it’s a deeply personal experience, and you deserve to feel confident, comforted, and in control.

A Team of Experts Devoted to You and Your Family

At the Overlake Childbirth Center, our team is not only highly skilled but deeply dedicated to you and your family. Many of our team members helped build our “culture of listening” and recognize that the trust they’ve developed among one another is what allows them to best meet your unique needs with great compassion and care. This is what makes Overlake the premier destination to have a baby in the Pacific Northwest.

Your care team will include labor and delivery nurses, postpartum nurses and breastfeeding specialists, all here to help you understand what will happen next, ease your worries, and support you every step of the way. We welcome doulas as part of your care team and are happy to help you connect with one.

We also offer the option of vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) for parents who are good candidates and interested in that path. Our team is here to guide you through your options and cheer you on — however your story unfolds.

Ongoing Care and Support After Your Baby Is Born

After your baby is born, we don’t say goodbye – we say, “See you soon.” That’s because we schedule a checkup for moms and babies two or three days after birth, to make sure both of you are doing well. Our Parent and Baby Center offers many resources to help you and your new baby stay happy and healthy, including:

  • Breastfeeding support, including unlimited appointments with our lactation consultants and a Pumping Strategies support group.
  • A boutique stocked with supplies like baby clothes, baby scales and hospital-grade breast pump rentals. We also have nursing bras and a certified bra fitter, who is also a lactation consultant. They can help you find a bra that supports your breasts and your breastfeeding.
  • A perinatal psychologist who helps new parents with mental health concerns like anxiety and depression or challenges bonding with their baby. They also help families transition to having a newborn and develop strategies to build healthy parent-baby relationships.
  • Parenting education, resources and classes.

Preregister for My Delivery

Make your birth experience a little less stressful by preregistering for your hospital stay. We encourage you to register early—and for sure by the start of your third trimester. This way, we can make sure we have all your information and can answer any insurance and financial questions you have before the big day.
