James Boswell, MD

James (Jamie) Boswell, MD, was appointed president of Overlake Clinics (Medical Group) in March 2026 and also serves as Overlake’s chief of staff.

A board‑certified hospitalist, Dr. Boswell has been a valued member of Overlake’s medical staff since 2005. Throughout his tenure, he has held several key leadership positions, including medical director of Overlake Hospitalists, chair of the Department of Medicine, and active participant on multiple physician governance and practice committees.

Dr. Boswell earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College and completed his internship and residency at Oregon Health & Sciences University. He holds an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and completed a post-baccalaureate premedical program at Harvard University.

As president of Overlake Clinics (Medical Group), Dr. Boswell serves as a key member of Overlake’s executive leadership team, championing exceptional patient care, uncompromising quality and the highest standards of safety across the organization. He continues to practice as a hospitalist alongside his leadership responsibilities.
